I’m never one for nanny cam justice like red light cameras etc. But this is necessary. Every day... EVERY. SINGLE. DAY...I encounter stupidity at the hands of phone staring drivers. Just yesterday I saw a guy face timing while driving.

It’s a larger issue and more dangerous that drivers being intoxicated. I’d rather ride with a slightly drunk driver with no phone over one staring into the void of the screen as they can absolutely see nothing else.

The images caught by this system don’t appear to be catching faces or even number pl a tes. But the pictures of the camera assembly show two cameras pointing at different angles. My guess is, it’s probably taking pictures of every car, during approach and as it passes more closely under the cameras, and syncing them up together in the system .

This is much needed tech. I wonder how they sort the images to look for cellphones.
